Scene 1

(Richard Cory walks into town, wearing a blue silk suit)

Cory: Hello every body.

(Town's people look in amazment)

Michael: Hello Mr. Cory. You're looking very dashing this morning.

Cory: Thank you sir.

Cory: Good morning Jerry.

Jerry: Good morning sir. How is Mrs. Cory?

Cory (smiling): Happy as usual. Thank you for asking.

(Jerry turns to Michael)

Jerry (whispering): Wow. I wish I was like him. Did you see how fly he looked?

Michael: He looks like he doesn't have a care in the world!!

(Smiling, Cory walks into his bank)

Scene 2

(Mrs. Cory dressed in a worn out house dress is on her hands and knees scrubbing the bathroom floor)

(Cory walks into his house and greet's Mrs. Cory with a kiss on the cheek)

Cory: Hello Honey.

Mrs. Cory (sarcastically): How was your day, perfect--as usual?

Mr. Cory: Yes, I had a great day and I feel like it's only going to get better. I'm starving, when's dinner?

(Cory walks upstairs into bedroom)

Scene 3

(Cory walks into the bedroom and sees suitcases)

Cory: Why are the suitcases out? Are we going somewhere?

Mrs.Cory: No! I am .

Cory: Why?

Mrs. Cory:I can't stand it anymore, Mr. Perfect.

Mr. Cory: I don't know what you're talking about.

Mrs. Cory (yelling): Your perfect clothes, your perfect life!!
(Mrs. Cory runs out crying)

Scene 4
( Cory sitting on couch)

Cory ( yelling): Why.....Why, how could this happen to me.

( Cory pulls out a gun and shoots himself in the head)
